About Bombora Learning
Bombora Learning assists with the issues that turn a workplace upside down. We are the experts at enhancing psychological well-being and emotional intelligence across the board.
We guide people to optimise their impact while maintaining their own health and well-being.
“Seeing people be brave and break cycles of disadvantage and complex trauma makes me love the work we do. We can all find a way to make changes and improve, without the wheels falling off.”
BONNIE SOUTER, FOUNDER
Areas of Expertise
At Bombora Learning we specialise in Emotional Intelligence, Trauma & Violence, Psychological Safety, Communication & Influence and Homelessness. We work with leaders, teams and have specialist expertise in educating frontline workers.
Emotional Intelligence
We know that with courageous leadership, growth and motivation thrive. Bombora Learning develop and coach leaders that can read the room, give and receive feedback, regulate their emotions and motivate others.
Emotional intelligence allows leaders to make space for teams to be innovative, learn from experience and realise their potential.
Trauma & Violence
We are passionate that people who experience Trauma & Violence should be safe, thriving and hopeful. Understanding that an experience of Trauma & Violence profoundly alters people and can affect our conduct at work, including our ability to form trusting relationships.
Experiences of Trauma & Violence can cause the dynamics of a team to become unstable or even toxic.
Communication & Influence
Be clear. Be concise. Be respectful. We teach leaders to be persuasive and to build strong connections with those around them. We focus on the balance between clear, transparent, compassionate communication, recognising that leaders are not social workers.
We believe communication must be appropriate, safe and drive accountability.
Psychological Safety
We know that staff performance, morale, retention, and success will improve in a psychologically safe workplace.
“I can’t be bothered”, “it’s not my job” or “it will sort itself out” are some of the limiting leadership mindsets we observe.
We specialise in helping leaders to navigate through the turbulence of workplace challenges, transforming potential upheaval into opportunities for growth and connection.
Homelessness
Homelessness is not a choice. Homelessness in Australia is growing rapidly and is one of the most distressing examples of social disadvantage in the community. Homelessness can be caused by several interrelated and overlapping factors.
Bombora Learning is passionate about bringing awareness, advocacy and attention to the issues surrounding homelessness in Australia.
Discussing trauma doesn’t have to be traumatic.

In short, yes. How people show up at work affects everyone in the workplace. It's important leaders strive to create a safe, secure environment. We know that for many people, work is the only safe place they have.
What this means: Safe is kind, accountable, fair and clear.
What this doesn't mean: Workplaces are not for therapy, counselling, ignoring, embarrassing or gossiping. People who experience trauma don't want to be fixed.
-
Nobody knows. These issues seem difficult to handle, and so they're usually left unaddressed until they get out of control. This doesn't seem to be a helpful strategy. Just drop us a line; we have so many strategies to assist you. Call us for a chat today.

Yes! Psychological safety is a right. According to Safe Work Australia, managing the risk of family and domestic violence in the workplace is complex and needs to be handled appropriately and sensitively.
-
Because we all have stuff going on. The better we can be and the more we actively increase our emotional intelligence, the more we benefit. It's not just our productivity, efficiency and sense of joy that increase, but we know better so we can do better.
